Volunteers - Smith Cemetery, Lewisville, Texas

Over the years, The Smith Cemetery had been so neglected, that the Denton County Historical Society had declared it abandoned.

Employees of TXU volunteered their time and equipment to begin restoration of the beautiful Cemetery grounds.

Frances James, AKA "The Cemetery Lady", led the way to have the Smith Cemetery declared a Historical Landmark.

Linda and Richard Smith began their restoration of the cemetery in late 1999. Their goal was and is to make the cemetery a beautiful final resting place for Linda's parent's and their descendents.
